Meeting Minutes – April 25, 2013

Old Business:

The treasurer’s report recorded a balance of $3,716.

A motion was made to reimburse club members in good standing for entry fees related to Florida Circuit Homebrew Competitions.  The motion carried.

Congratulations to the medalists from last month’s Hurricane Blowoff:

–  Dave & Bob:              Light Lager (Bronze), English Pale Ale (Gold), Smoke & Wood-Aged (Gold)
–  Dan Barrett:              English Pale Ale (Silver)
–  Danny Argudin:        Fruit Beer (Bronze)
–  Jon & Alisa Britton: Standard Cider (Silver)

The next scheduled competition is the Hogtown Brewoff in Gainesville.  The entry window has closed.  News about a beer railroad for entries will be available shortly.

A number of MASH members participated in the United Way Brews and Bites event again this year at Wynwood Walls.  A good time was had by all.

Big Brew is May 4. Steve from the Titanic Brewery has not yet confirmed.  We may have to find another location.  Dave will reach out to Miami Beer and Wine Warehouse.

The Summer Solstice Party will be held on Saturday, June 22nd at Matt & Marie Waldron’s home.  Please bring extra chairs/tables.

Bob received a quote on the oval MASH bumper stickers – 500 for $265.

Matt was nominated as Social Media coordinator.  He will monitor the club’s Twitter account. Our Facebook page currently has 111 ‘likes”.

New Business

Danny Argudin was nominated as Chair of the club Social Committee.  A few ideas were submitted:

–  WOB Dadeland – Hangin’ with the Homies (Bob Billany)
–  MASH Poker Tournament (Matt Waldron)

A motion was made to utilize the American Legion Post as our regulare meeting site.  Bob beard will check with the Post Commander.
